These bars are jam packed with energy. They’re super tasty and the perfect guilt free sweet snack for fitness freaks or just anybody looking for chocolaty bliss. They’re also 100% vegan!

You’ll need these ingredients for about 16 squares

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • half cup of Hemp protein powder
  • half cup pecan or walnuts
  • 6 Tblsp Organic Cocoa powder

This is how we did it:

Mush the 3 bananas with a fork until very fine. Crush the nuts in a mortar and pestle, not too fine; you want some pieces in the brownies.

Now mix everything together. And if you want to amplify the experience even more, you can add a hand full of organic dark choc chips.

Pour batter in a baking pan prepared with butter or coconut oil. Bake for 10 – 15min in a 200 degree oven.

Aloha! I'm Carien. I live in South Africa in an area called the Swartland (Black Land). I live on a small holding (Homestead) and I am a full time house wife with one husband (yes, only one), one son, one dog, a few sheep and plenty of chickens. Living as natural as possible is a passion of mine. Inclined to a mostly organic vegetarian diet I tend to post healthy food recipes, green tips and information on natural and organic and natural living.

They are, and healthy too! Give them a try and let us know what you think.

  1. Mary Jane

They look like they’ll make you high. Hemp protien should be equivalent to marijuana, right?

    • Carien

Hehehe, they don’t make you high at all. Hemp is family of marijuana, but doesn’t have any of it’s hallucinogenic properties. You smoke hemp and all you get is a headache 🙂
But it’s very high in protein and dietary fiber, so very healthy.

  2. MMMMMMMM Ek het dit vanmiddag gemaak en dit is heerlik! My man kan nie genoeg van dit kry nie en dit is gesond – bonus! Die piesang maak dit soek, het gedink dit kan bitter wees maar is glad nie.

  3. Should the oven be 200 degrees celcius?
For how long can you store these?

    • Carien

Hi Wendy, yes 200 degrees celcius. They should keep fine for about a week in the fridge, but ours have never lasted that long 🙂
